Interview with Las Vegas Dentist My G Tran DDS

Getting to know Cheyenne Dental Group and My G Tran, DDS

Question: What school did you attend to receive your DDS?

I attended the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. My passion for cosmetic dentistry grew once I began treating patients and seeing the transformation of their health and beauty.

Question: When did you know you wanted to become a Cosmetic Dentist?

Well, my parents were in the medical profession and I saw how much pride they had serving their community. Just like them, I wanted to help people and have pride in my profession. Becoming a cosmetic dentist is the easiest decision I have made – everyday, I am able to assist people in their health & enhance their confidence.

Question: Why did you choose to open your dental practice in Las Vegas, specifically on Cheyenne Ave?

With the beauty of the mountains and the ever-growing population of families, I knew that Las Vegas would be the perfect place to open up my practice. Las Vegas is a great place to raise a family and that was a main factor in opening a cosmetic dentistry practice in Las Vegas.

Question: What do you think are some important characteristics a cosmetic dentist must have?

Great question, one of the main reasons I opened up my dental practice in Las Vegas was to ensure that my patients are educated extensively and are taught about the many options within all the procedures; whether it is dental implants, veneers, teeth whitening, or dentures. I want to provide my patients with as much knowledge as possible so that they can enjoy their health. I would like to add that being available for emergency-care is very important to me – no one should experience pain and I make myself available for all of my patients

Question: What do you expect of your staff?

Our front desk has to guarantee patients are seen on time and that we inform patients about their routine checkups. In addition, my staff has to be an extension of me, they have to provide patients with knowledge about all of our procedures and make them feel comfortable. I ensure that my staff has as much knowledge about all of our basic and cosmetic dental procedures; whether it is teeth whitening, root canals, crowns or fillings.

Question: Do you see emergency patients on the weekends and nights?

Yes. We know that a toothache can be debilitating and we want to provide out community members in Las Vegas with care in their time of need – no matter the time or day. In the past we have had emergency procedures for implants, crowns and bridges.

Question: Can you provide me with the cost of your cosmetic procedures?

Without reviewing each individual case, it is hard to determine the cost and the necessary procedures. We offer free consultations so that we can provide you with the most accurate recommendations and solutions for your cosmetic procedure.

Question: Does your dental practice offer financing for your treatments?

Yes we offer many types of financing to ease the costs that are involved with our cosmetic and implant procedures. To learn about your options, please call us at (702) 405-7400 or visit us at CheyenneDentalGroup.com

Question: When should my children have their first checkup?

In order to ensure a lifetime of healthy teeth, your child should have a checkup after the first tooth emerges. Or your child has a check up prior to their first birth date. In addition, make certain that your child’s diet is balanced with a limited amount of sugars so your children CAN avoid tooth decay.

Question: In the next few weeks, I am going to have cosmetic (porcelain) veneers placed on my front teeth. In addition to this, I want to bleach or zoom whiten my bottom teeth. Which procedure should take place first – should I have my teeth bleached/whitened and match my cosmetic veneers to the whitened teeth, or have the veneers procedure first and bleach/whiten my teeth after?

Many dentists will agree that you should always whiten your teeth first and let the color stabilize (about 4-6 weeks) prior to your cosmetic veneers procedure. Our in-office Zoom brightening and take home bleaching trays will give you optimal results and give your teeth the proper whitening.

After a period of 4 to 6 weeks you should begin your procedure for your veneers – this way the whiteness of your teeth looks natural and will match your veneers.

Q: I would like to inquire about your teeth whitening procedure (Zoom Whitening & Zoom Bleaching). I wanted to know if there are any effects on the stabilization of my teeth? Would have my teeth whitened increase the chances of needing dentures when I am older?

Good question. Please note that bleaching and whitening procedures have never been the cause for teeth replacements such as bridges or dentures. The Zoom bleaching and Zoom whitening procedures are the latest procedures and are known to be the some of the strongest teeth whitening procedures.

  1. How long do I have to wait before going back to work after a cosmetic procedure?

    • Most cosmetic procedures do not require any down time. Unless surgery is involved which requires a healing phase, patients undergoing cosmetic work can go straight to work.

  2. I’ve been visiting your site for some time now. This is the first time I would leave a comment. I love this blog post! So true.
